Itinerary for a 4 day desert tour from Fes to Marrakech :
Day 1: Fes – Midelt – Erfoud – Merzouga – Erg Chebbi
We begin our four-day excursion from Fez to Marrakech over the Sahara desert at 8:00 a.m. We go to Midelt via the Middle Atlas Mountains and cedar woodlands. We proceed via Ifrane, a lovely ski resort, and Azrou, an important handicraft center specializing in cedar wood work. We stop for lunch in Midelt. We’ll travel to Erfoud and into the desert in the afternoon. Dinner and sleep at a hotel near the Erg Chebbi sahara dunes.
Day 2: Merzouga – Erfoud – Amellagou (in the spring and summer) – Todra Gorge – Dades Gorge
After breakfast, go by camel to Rissani and Erfoud in order to view the treatment plant marble fossilized before continuing to touroug and tinjdad palm orchards, arriving to toudra gorges and have lunch in the site, afternoon you will drive to Dades gorges through Boumalne and the Dades valley. Dinner and an overnight stay at a hotel
Dades Gorge – Roses Valley – Skoura – Ouarzazate – Ait Ben Haddou on Day 3
After breakfast, return by the Dades Valley to the Kasbah of Ait Youl, the track road crossing Rose Valley with its Kasbah and ksours, in this part you can see very nice landscapes before getting to Kalla Mgouna, lunch on the way, after noon departure to the Palme groves of skoura and visit of the Kasbah of Amredhyle. Continuation to Ouarzazate for a visit to Taourirt Kasbah, followed by a night at a magnificent Kasbah in Ait Ben Haddou. Dinner and overnight stay at a hotel
Ait Ben Haddou – Telouet – Atlas Mountains – Marrakech : Day 4
After breakfast, the morning is dedicated to a tour to Ait Benhaddou, a “fortified city” located along the historic caravan route between the Sahara and Marrakech. It is located on a hill beside the Ounila Valley River and has several lovely kasbahs, some of which are still inhabited. After lunch, we will return to Marrakech through the classic High Atlas Berber settlement of Telouet, where we will visit the Kasbah el Glaoui and traverse the High Atlas mountain. End of your Morocco desert tour excursion with a drop-off at your hotel in Marrakech.
