  • AA doesn’t allow unaccompanied minors on overnight flights.
  • Kids who are 15 to 17 years old can take this service as an option, but the fee applies.

    • Another airline flights such as codeshare and oneworld partners
    • Ground/co-terminal connections where the kid has to transfer from one local airport to another
    • The day’s last flight from the connection city, but on the only flight.

How to Book an AA Ticket for an Unaccompanied Minor?

You can easily book AA flight tickets for your kids via the official phone number of the airline.

  • Once you dial the number, a customer service representative will assist you.
  • Request to book an unaccompanied minor ticket for your kid.
  • Help the executive fill out an UMNR form for your kid.
  • Make the payment.

How Much is the American Airlines Unaccompanied Minor Fee?

American Airlines charges an amount of $150 as an unaccompanied service fee, for each kid for one way. You have to pay taxes, where applicable. However if kids of the same family are traveling as UMNRs on the same flight, the $150 covers all. You need not pay the fee separately for each child.

To keep it short, you can count on American Airlines for your little sweetheart’s domestic solo trip. Don’t miss out on any important documents that your kid must have for this journey. Make sure that your kid has documents like passport/birth certificate and a government-issued photo ID proof that also has your address.
