Tips for Garlic naan restaurant style

The only garlic naan recipe you will ever need is this one. It’s delicious and soft.

With these simple step-by-step instructions, you can make garlic naan at home that tastes just like it does in a restaurant.

I would like to show you how to prepare authentic garlic naan, okra frozen, just like in restaurants.

Folks, I have made this dish years ago. I can still remember how excited I was when I prepared it. Because this garlic naan turned out so well – much better than I expected – and because I was so pleased with the results, I immediately wanted to write about it on the blog.

We traveled to Europe and India, but a few things happened after that, and I never published this incredible garlic naan recipe. Oh well, better late than never! I guarantee you that my garlic naan recipe is the only naan recipe you will ever need.

What materials do you need to make naan?

The popular bread in South Asia that is allowed to rise is called naan. In India, a particular bread is always served at gatherings, weddings, birthdays and other special occasions. To be honest, eating naan is not common for Indians.

When we were kids, we used to order it in restaurants. My mother may have never prepared naan for us at home. At home, we only had roti and paratha. Just like today, naan used to be served only in restaurants.

Naan is made from the same ingredients as other bread: Flour, yeast, water or milk, sugar and salt. To make it pleasant and soft, I added some yogurt. Since this recipe is garlic naan, I also add grated garlic to the dough and plenty of garlic butter on the naan.

I baked this garlic naan on the stove top. Naan is usually baked in a tandoor, a clay oven. I prefer the over the stove method at home. You can bake them too, but I find that cooking them on the stove is much softer and better.

Also, I think they are best prepared in a cast iron skillet. I’ve also prepared them in non-stick and other pans, but they just taste so much better in cast iron.

Like the garlic naan at your favorite restaurant, only better, is this homemade version.

It’s very easy to make at home, with ingredients you probably already have. It goes well with paneer tikka masala or dal makhani. It contains all the health benefits of garlic. Compared to naan from the store, it’s much cheaper.

Conclusion

It was a lot of fun to make these garlic naans at home. Once you learn how to make them, you will never want to buy naan from the store again. You know those rubbery, stretchy frozen naan varieties?
