South Korea’s tennis clash with Alkaras and Djokovic in Davis Cup Sept

South Korea will face world No. 1 and No. 2 Carlos Alcaras (Spain) and Novak Djokovic (Serbia) at the Davis Cup, a men’s tennis national competition.

According to this year’s Davis Cup group stage roster announced on the 15th, Spain and Serbia, which are in Group C like South Korea, have decided to hire Alkaras and Djokovic.

This year’s Davis Cup group stage will be held from September 12 to 17, and Group C matches will be held in Valencia, Spain.

In Group C, four countries, including South Korea, Spain, Serbia, and the Czech Republic, will advance to the Davis Cup Final in November.

Korea also joined Spain, Serbia, and Canada in the Davis Cup group stage in September last year, but Djokovic did not participate at the time.

Alkaras played against South Korea last year and defeated Kwon Soon-woo (107th, Dangjin City Hall) 2-0.

In addition to Kwon Soon-woo, South Korea organized the national team with Hong Sung-chan (204th, Sejong City Hall), Jung Yoon-sung (313th, Uijeongbu City Hall), Nam Ji-sung (123rd, Sejong City Hall), and Song Min-kyu (171st, KDB Development Bank).

Spain will be led by Alkaras, followed by Alejandro Davydovich Pokina (23rd), Roberto Bautista Agut (37th), and Marcel Granoyers (16th in doubles).

Serbia will feature Djokovic, Laslo Zere (34th), Miomir Ketzmanovic (41st), Doosan Rayovitch (66th) and Hamad Medjevic (144th).

The Czech Republic is also ranked higher than South Korea, with Gezi Lehetska (35th), Tomasi Mahachi (102nd), Yakup Mensik (192nd), and Adam Pavlasek (60th in doubles).

Since the Davis Cup will be held right after the US Open, a major tournament, there is a possibility that Alkaras or Djokovic will not play against South Korea depending on the player’s appointment.

Korea lost 1-2 to Canada and Serbia in the group stage last year and lost 0-3 to Spain. 스포츠중계

After that, he was dragged 0-2 in the final finals against Belgium in February this year, but came from behind to win 3-2 and succeeded in advancing to the group stage, the round of 16 in the world, for the second consecutive year.
