PSG Lee Kang-in Surprise Injury in Pre-Season Opener

Lee Kang-in started as a right striker according to the plan of new head coach Luis Enrique in the first friendly match of the 2023-24 preseason against Le Havre at PSG on the Paris campus in France at 0 a.m. on the 22nd, but was replaced by a right hamstring injury at the end of the first half. 스포츠토토핫

Lee Kang-in, who is expected to fill the gap between coach Enrique and Lionel Messi ahead of the new season, drew attention as the right striker of the three-top along with Ishmael Garbi and Marco Asensio.

Against Le Havre, who won the French League 2 title last season and was promoted to League 1, Lee Kang-in suddenly complained of pain in his right thigh in the 43rd minute of the first half when he was performing remarkably with his back number 19 and was eventually replaced by more than a hamstring in the 44th minute. Lee Kang-in’s friendly match between Japan and South Korea, which will be held as PSG’s Asian tour schedule from the 25th, will also be disrupted. The exact extent of Lee Kang-in’s injury is unknown, and the club has yet to announce it.

Coincidentally, PSG announced PSG’s schedule for the Korean game before the match. PSG, which originally only announced its Japan tour schedule, officially announced on its website that it will visit Korea on August 2 and 3 for the first time in history to meet Korean fans and have a friendly match with Jeonbuk Hyundai as part of the Coupang Play Series on August 3.

PSG said, “I’m happy to have the opportunity to meet my fans in Korea. The historic meeting followed the recruitment of talented and promising South Korean player Lee Kang-in this summer,” he said. PSG will have three friendly matches in Osaka and Tokyo, Japan, from the 25th to August 1st and will visit Korea. On the 25th, he will face Alnasr, where Cristiano Ronaldo plays in Osaka, and on the 28th, he will face Cerezo Osaka. On the 1st, he will move to Tokyo to play Inter Milan and play his final match against Jeonbuk Hyundai at Busan Asiad Main Stadium on August 3.

Lee Kang-in, who appeared on PSG’s Asian Tour promotional poster along with “world stars” Kylian Mbappe and Neymar, was scheduled to return to France after four pre-season matches in Japan and Korea to prepare for the 2023-24 League 1 opening game against Lorient on the 13th. In addition, Hwang Sun-hong’s transfer to the Hangzhou Asian Games in September has also been included in the list, drawing attention from domestic fans, and the future schedule has become unclear due to more than unexpected thighs.

In his first match against Le Havre, new coach Luis Enrique focused on checking the physical condition of the players with even appointment of transfer players. Lee Kang-in, who signed a five-year contract with PSG for a transfer fee of 22 million euros 31.5 billion won earlier this month, was included in the starting 11 along with goalkeeper Alexandre L’Tellier, Ashraf Hakimi, Danilu Pereira, Luca Hernandez, Lavain Kurzawa, Manuel Ugarte, Pivaan Luis, Warren Zaire-Emeri, Marco Asensio and Ishmael Garbi.

Leading strikers Kylian Mbappe, Keylor Navas, Marquinos, Marco Verati, Vichyna, Henatu Sanchez, Cher Ndur, Julian Draxler, Milan Shkliniar and Hugo Ekitique were waiting on the bench. Mbappe’s younger brother, Dean Mbappe, was also named on the bench list. Neymar is off the list. Mbappe, who was substituted in the second half, scored an additional goal to lead the team to a 2-0 victory. Lee Kang-in was replaced in the second half of the first half and failed to work with Mbappe.
