Instagram Users are increasingly Showing off their Charcoal Hair

Are you getting tired of rainbow hair? We are in possession of the ideal antidote. Your unicorn-trampled heart will feel better and you’ll be able to connect with your inner dark goddess thanks to the newest hair color trend that’s going out on Instagram.

Increasingly Showing off their Charcoal Hair

Colorists on Instagram have begun giving their customers’ a Dark Charcoal Hair Color treatment and referring to the style as “charcoal hair.” The end result is completely different from pastel hair in every way. It is Smokey and seductive, and it is not modeled after a beverage sold at Starbucks.

For several years now, famous people have shown that they are not afraid to embrace the gray hair trend. Earlier in the week, Blac Chyna even rocked a lilac-gray wig and absolutely killed us with her killer look. The ashy tone, on the other hand, is something that we have never seen before. It’s not quite black, and it’s not quite silver, but there’s a glimmer of blue in there somewhere as well.

“The balance between blue and grey is incredibly crucial,” says colorist Maayan Birnstein, who resides in Maryland and contributes to Allure. “The hair needs to have no orange lingering in it,” she explains, in order for the color to look its best after it has been applied. Birnstein suggests requesting a bleach and tone from your colorist in order to guarantee that this will take place.

Although Birnstein uses Schwarzkopf Igora Royal Absolutes Silverwhite to achieve charcoal hair, several colorists on Instagram credit L.A.-based colorist Guy Tang’s #mydentity hair dye with assisting them in achieving the smoldering shade. Birnstein uses it himself. He literally makes what is known as charcoal, which is a direct dye. It is often combined with the metallic silver dye in the coloring process.

If you are interested in achieving this appearance, we suggest looking for a salon in your area that carries the dye. Additionally, make sure to show some of these Instagram images to your colorist so they may use them as a reference. You may also look for additional ideas by scrolling through the #charcoalhair post on Instagram. The one thing that is certain, however, is that this color cannot be manufactured in a factory.

You may even add a secret beam of color below your hair, like Birnstein did in a collaboration with colorist Kasey O’Hara, if you just can’t help yourself from wanting a little bit of rainbow in your life. O’Hara claims she “drew inspiration from the opalescence of rainbow colors combined with tones of charcoal. When you do, be careful to wash your hair with sulfate-free shampoo, a cleansing conditioner, and cold water “for longevity.”
