The competition will feature invited overseas men’s and women’s club teams. Supreme Chonburi, who has won the Thai league several times, will participate in the women’s division, while Panasonic Panthers, who finished third in the Japanese V-League last season, will participate in the men’s division.
In this tournament, eight women’s and eight men’s teams are divided into Group A and Group B, and the top two teams in each group will advance to the semifinals. The winner of the semifinals will compete for the championship in the final.
The women’s team was assigned to the group through a lottery. It consists of Group A Road Corporation, Pepper Savings Bank, Hyundai Engineering & Construction, Ginseng Corporation, Group B Heungkuk Life Insurance, IBK Industrial Bank of Korea, GS Caltex, and Chonburi.
The men’s team was grouped according to the results of last year’s cup competition. Korean Air, Woori Card, KB Insurance, and OK Financial Group were placed in Group A, while KEPCO, Samsung Fire & Marine Insurance, Hyundai Capital, and Panasonic were placed in Group B.
