Gaming Innovation Group Partners With Ontario-Based Operators

This week, Game Innovation Group expanded its operations to new jurisdictions as it signed a deal with Ontario’s leading land casino operator. Through Head of Termi Compact, GiG will offer award-winning platforms, sportsbook verticals and proven omnichannel solutions to operators. The entire contract will be signed in the coming weeks.

GiG’s latest announcement follows a growing list of game brands choosing technology providers to power them in Ontario. Prior to the most recent agreement with the state’s land-based operator, the provider also recently launched two websites successfully and announced another new partnership earlier this year.

As part of the agreement, GiG will provide turnkey solutions to operators, including technology platforms, OMNI solutions, Frontend, CMS and sportsbooks, all powered by GiG unique data and GiGLogic rule-based solutions, with the full contract set to be signed in the coming months, according to the company.

Ben Clemes, GM at GiG North America, said the company is pleased to sign a contract with an offline operator that has maintained a leading name in Ontario for decades. He added that the partner’s land-based presence would allow suppliers to demonstrate the power of casinos, sports and our front-end solutions, as well as OMNI solutions.

Ontario’s market for third-party betting operators is the first in Canada. Opened on April 4, 2022, it is managed by Ontario’s Alcohol and Gaming Commission. In October, regulators released a second-quarter report on the market and confirmed that the state generated a betting handle of C$6.04 billion between July 1 and September 30, 2022.

The betting handle brought in just over C$267 million in revenue for the state. In the second quarter, there were 24 operators in the sector, and 42 game websites executed and accepted bets online. There were also 628,000 active user accounts on the market, with an average monthly expenditure of C$142 per customer. Since then, a lot more brands have entered this category.
