Jewelry Joo Jae-hoon, an office worker who was a member of The Silver Club Who Traded For a One-year Salary

Joo Jae-hoon and So Chae-won Hyundai Mobis won the silver medal after losing 158-159 to Oyas Praveen Deotale and Jyoti Sureka Vennam at the 2022 Hangzhou Asian Games Compound Archery Field held at Fuyang Inhu Sports Center Archery Field in Hangzhou, China on the 4th. 토토

Compound is a mechanical bow with pulleys and sights and has not yet become an official event at the Olympics. Unlike Recurve, where South Korea has an overwhelming performance, Compound is said to be much more difficult to win a medal in international competitions because its skills are leveled worldwide.

Under these circumstances, South Korea won a valuable silver medal, especially meaningful to Joo Jae-hoon. This is because it is a valuable achievement obtained by temporarily giving up on living. Joo Jae-hoon is not a businessman or university team member, but an archery hobbyist. It is marked as Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power, but it is not an archery team.

In 2016, when he was a college student, he accidentally joined a compound archery club in Gyeongsan, Gyeongsangbuk-do. Joo Jae-hoon, who belatedly discovered his talent with outstanding performances in the amateur competition, is said to have learned foreign players’ posture, equipment tuning, and mental management know-how through YouTube. And I learned what I learned by steadily participating in hobbyist competitions.

Joo Jae-hoon, who works as a petition police officer for Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power, took unpaid leave to participate in international competitions and camps at Jincheon National Training Center when he became a member of the national team. Fortunately, thanks to Joo Jae-hoon’s wife’s understanding and supporting him, he was able to participate in the Asian Games, and eventually won a silver medal.

Joo Jae-hoon said, I want to give the honor of the silver medal to my family, community members in Uljin, Gyeongsangbuk-do, and company officials. When asked, If you had to choose between advance and silver, what would you choose? Joo Jae-hoon replied, It’s really hard to choose, but looking at the medal around his neck and saying, Silver medal.

Asked by reporters, Isn’t it a medal in exchange for a year’s salary? he said, That’s what it is. But I never regret it, he said. Of course, I think my wife’s thoughts will be a little different. Joo Jae-hoon overcame the constraints that lack training time compared to other players because of his work life and training at the same time by speeding up his training.

I trained for two to three hours after work, but I saved time by shooting my bow three times faster than professional players, Joo Jae-hoon said. It usually takes 15 minutes to shoot six shots, but I shot within five minutes. It was my own compression training method, he explained. He added, I think I’ve trained enough and a lot in my own way. Meanwhile, Joo Jae-hoon will not challenge for the national team for the time being after this year to protect his livelihood and family.

If I say I’ll represent the national team again next year, I think I’ll be fired from the company, he said. I’ll think about it again when it becomes an official event in 2028.
