Woodbine Ent. Adds Swinger/Omni Bets To Track

This week, Woodbine Entertainment is gearing up for a special announcement for riders as the Ontario horse racing leader is adding a new betting vertical to the track. 릴게임 Swinger, also known as Omniwager, will soon be implemented as an option at Woodbine Racecourse and the Woodbine Mohawk Park property.

Swinger, also known worldwide as Omni, is a leading international bet that requires horses to choose two of the top three in the race. Then, one of the participants can win the race with a preferred choice of horses finished first and second, first and third, or second and third. The bet starts at 1 Canadian dollar and the takeout is 18%.

In a press release, the operator said interesting swinger/omni bets will be added to both the Woodbine Race Track and Woodbine Mohawk Park. New products will be available on both tracks from Thursday, June 1, 2023. The new betting options are also available for all races on the track and have been integrated online.

But it’s not all the news from the Ontario horse racing organization, as the group also informed riders about changes to this weekend’s qualifying schedule at Woodbine Mohawk Park. In order to qualify for 2-year-olds this weekend, the track will review the number of entries to determine whether a two-day qualifier is needed.

According to the operator, there are several possible scenarios if a change is required. If only one day of entry is needed, all qualifiers on the track will be held on Friday, and if a number of entries are called up for two days, regular qualifiers will be held on Friday and second-year-olds on Saturday.

Finally, the group reported that each qualifying session would begin at 10 a.m. Also, this weekend’s preliminary entry will be suspended at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday. In addition, the operator informed riders that entry into the preliminary round must be through Standard Bread Canada’s online entry system. More information on qualifying participants and new bets can be found on the operator’s website.

Earlier this month, Woodbine Entertainment also informed a private online sports book in Ontario that it was working on adding horse racing as a betting option. This has been going on for a while now. But recently, Woodvine’s president of commercial operations, Michael Copeland, said consolidation could be completed before the fall of this year and the operator was cautiously optimistic.

In a separate announcement, the group said goodbye to long-term CEO Jim Lawson. He is expected to step down from his post in the fall of 2023, but the exact date is not yet known. However, there are expectations around the group that he will not leave completely and take on another role.
