‘Women’s basketball legend’ Park Shin-ja to attend Park Shinja Cup for first time in eight years

Korean women’s basketball legend Park Shin-ja will attend the tournament named after her for the first time in eight years.

The Korea Women’s Basketball League (WKBL) announced today that the 2023 Woori Bank Park Shin-ja Cup, which will be held at Cheongju Gymnasium in Chungcheongbuk-do from March 26 to April 3, will be attended by its namesake and women’s basketball legend Park Shin-ja.

It will be the first time in eight years that Park has visited the tournament since the inaugural Park Shin-ja Cup Summer League in 2015.

Park, who lives in the United States, will visit the stadium on the 26th, when the tournament opens, and on the 3rd, when the final is held.

After the finals, she will serve as an award presenter and encourage the teams.

Until last year, the tournament was called the Park Shin-ja Cup Summer League as a stage for the discovery of promising players, but this year, it was renamed the Park Shin-ja Cup and became an international tournament where even mainstream players compete.

Ten teams, six domestic and four overseas, participated in the tournament, boasting the largest number of players ever, with a total of 140 players on the roster.

The Philippine National Team has the most players with 17, while Australia’s Bendigo Spirit has the fewest with nine.

Among the domestic teams, each roster includes every member of the Korean National Team that will compete at the Hangzhou Asian Games in September.

The 10 teams will be divided into two groups for qualification, with the top two in each group advancing to the quarterfinals. The prize money for the championship was increased from 10 million won to 30 million won this year. 안전카지노사이트
